The LSS welcomes applications for membership from lawyers from all areas of practice and from academics and students of all disciplines.

The LSS undertakes work for individuals on a pro-bono basis in many different areas of law and as such has a rapidly expanding membership covering many areas of expertise. Members are free to take on cases or provide advice as and when they have the capacity to do so. Individuals seeking advice contact the LSS through the Advice Clinic
or are referred by another organisation.

The LSS carries out research projects and provides advice to campaigning organisations in areas of law which are frequently controversial and rapidly developing. Projects provide members with exciting opportunities to give advice which will frequently be used by groups campaigning for equal rights to lobby Members of Parliament and to table questions in the House of Commons or House of Lords on legislative reform.

Members may also be invited to represent the LSS at seminars and debates where they have a relevant specialisation.
